Why would I want counselling or psychotherapy?
Do you worry about being judged or think your problems aren’t ‘bad’ enough to involve someone else? Perhaps you can’t see how exploring your difficulties with another person can actually help.

Many people are nervous about trying counselling or psychotherapy and it’s often the last thing they choose to help themselves. Yet often they wish they’d accessed support earlier and felt relief at sharing their troubles with a trusted professional.

For therapy to be effective it’s important to choose a therapist that you can connect with and build a trusting relationship with. Your therapist should also be prepared to work with you, supporting you through your experiences.
I have been described as being warm, understanding, ‘normal’, down-to-earth, patient, insightful and having an ‘ear’ for detail. My clients’ are often pleasantly surprised at how much I remember, which demonstrates just how carefully I listen. I’m particularly skilled at supporting clients make sense of their experiences.
I currently work with individuals, either on an open-ended basis or for a mutually agreed time period, with the aim of enabling every client to improve their life and live it more fully.

How far should I travel for therapy?
My private practice is based in two locations - Market Harborough, Leicestershire and Milton Keynes (Milton Keynes) – both within easy reach of Northampton and the surrounding villages.
